WordPressWordPress was launched in 2003 and was mainly used for blogging purposes. This is not the case anymore and WordPress is being used as the foundation for building many websites for people as well as for companies such as Samsung, Forbes, and CNN.

The ease of use and standard features of WordPress make it appealing to designers as well as clients who want to be able to make changes to their website themselves.

The plugins available also make WordPress able to add functionality to your website with relative ease. WordPress is also updated often and supported well with dedicated resources and forums.

Lastly, WordPress SEO friendly. With a couple of plugins, your WordPress site can be found easier by search engines and help people find your site easier.

What are those boxes?

Share

Have you ever wondered what the little black and white boxes that you are seeing on advertisements in magazines and papers around town are? The boxes are called QR codes and can be used to link to an email address, phone number, website, Facebook page, vcard, or twitter account that can be accessed with a smart phone QR scanner app.

A QR code is another way for you to get your name out to your customers and do a target marketed campaign. If this sounds like something that could work for you, contact Michaelle Boetger Graphic Designs and we will be happy to help you get started with your own QR code. With more and more people using their smart phones for everything from getting directions to shopping, this is an expanding market that could help your business grow.

business cards have prime real estate

Share

When you receive a greeting card do you look on the back? Are you looking to see if its a Hallmark card? We’ve just grown accustomed to flipping things over, looking at both sides. This holds true for business cards as well. Why would you not print information on both sides? Each side of your business card is prime real estate for valuable information, it is space you have to make that first impression. There’s no reason to stuff everything you want to say on one side of the card, don’t crowd the important stuff.

So, you may be asking what can I do with the other side? Well, here’s a few ideas:

1. use the back to list services, tell people more about what you offer.

2. use the space for a punch card, a calendar or something else useful. This gives people a reason to hold onto the card.

3. make a bold statement or show part of your logo, something that gets their attention.

4. use color! The cost to print on both sides is only a few bucks more, it’s more than worth the money to stand out.
